Last week I travelled alone for the first time. I am barely old enough to travel alone and was terrified.
Loads of people get nervous about traveling, it doesn't matter if you live in the middle of nowhere or the centre of London, everybody is bound to get a little worried about travelling alone.
The truth is though that an airport is one of the safest places to be on earth. They have the tightest security (I am about to get on my plane home ( as I write this )and at security a woman gave my bag a random swab check and then did it to every other person after as well, they really don't take any risks when it comes to your safety!).
Top Flying tips:
- Have everything you need for security easily accessible, tablets, laptops and liquids. It will make the whole experience run more smoothly and you're less likely to get annoyed looks from the people queuing behind you.
- Buy your snack and drink before you get on the plane because you will find it a lot cheaper in the WHS then you would on board the plane.
- Name your suitcase, it will make finding it a lot easier if you loose it.
- Put your boarding pass inside where your picture is so that you can find both of them really quickly and have the page of your passport you need marked out ready for checking.
- If somebody stops you and you haven't done anything wrong, don't worry. They're probably just doing random security checks for your and other people's safety.
- Have time wasters, other then electronics, for the plane. I suggest: books, crosswords, a pad for doodling, e.c.t. ... If you do bring electronics make sure you have earphones and whatever things you need downloaded from the Internet.
- If your plane does get delayed, don't worry. Call the person who's at the other end and tell them you're delayed.
- Last but not least, don't panic. If things get really bad go to departures and get somebody to pick you up.
Tiny tip- don't leave present buying 'till the last minuet. You can get more personal gifts outside of the airport, cheaper too.
When actually on holiday respect your parent's wishes because if they find out you've abused their trust then they may not let you go on holiday alone again.
Not much can go wrong and everything that does can be fixed.
- Blogging off. xx
